//What is Wetwork?
Wetwork is a brutal, close quarters engagement simulator with intricate gunplay, environmental realism and satisfying gore. Expect to experience a unique FPS where you have to balance tactical realism with brutal enemies who will not show mercy, and will not receive it from you either. As you experience the episodic stories that ‘Operations’ is made up of, be immersed in gory, bullet-ripped vignettes that challenge you to be the best gunman you can.
Unlike most other shooters in this genre, we’re fusing guns with a compelling story and letting the player get close to their character as bits of their past, present and future come into view through collectible journals and other in-game clues. You might be a lone wolf killer now, but you mattered to people once. At Alpha release, expect action-packed missions across multiple continents and diverse settings, giving you a wide canvas to paint your bloody gun-art on.
Wetwork aims to bring a new kind of FPS into the genre where you have to think before you shoot; manage your ammunition; manually rechamber and clear misfires; avoid getting headshot. Meanwhile, your enemies are always thinking about the best way to kill you. WW’s intelligent AI will change firerates based on distance to target; become more accurate while stationary; take cover and advance carefully and more. ‘Operations’ will expand over time with more missions, weapons and other exciting content updates that are sure to make the unique world of Wetwork feel more alive.
Inspired by Tarkov, Black Ops 1-III, Sniper Elite, and more, this game is an homage to the great shooters the genre was defined by, and Wetwork is gunning to get on that shelf with those legends.
At its core, Wetwork is a story about how ugly privatised warfare really is, and the rare moment of beauty a fighter experiences that reminds him why he fought in the first place. Wetwork aspires to let players take a look behind the brilliant adrenaline-fuelled set pieces of war-as-employment, and experience first-hand the dark hell it sends even the best fighters down.
